Chad Greenway

Former Linebacker with the Minnesota Vikings

Chad Greenway is a retired NFL linebacker who spent his entire 11-year career with the Minnesota Vikings. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was named the Vikings Defensive MVP in 2010, 2012 and 2013.

Greenway attended Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, SD, where he was a three-time South Dakota All-State performer and was named the South Dakota Gatorade Football Player of the Year as a senior in 2001.  He played collegiately at Iowa and was drafted by the Vikings in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He retired from football in 2017.  

Greenway is known for his charitable endeavors and, in 2008, he established Chad Greenway’s Lead The Way Foundation. Through his foundation, he has opened Chad’s Lockers both in the Twin Cities and Sioux Falls, SD to provide patients and their families access to notebook computers, movies and video game systems to occupy their time during their hospital stay.

For his work, Greenway was named the Vikings Community Man of The Year four times and received the 2015 Byron “Whizzer” White NFL Man of the Year Award by the NFL Players Association.  Greenway is married and has four daughters.
