Deadwood Excursion: Where History Comes Alive
WASHTO 2018 is offering an old west experience to historic Deadwood, South Dakota. In 1876, prospectors came to Deadwood Gulch for a promise of gold and a better life. What they experienced was lawlessness and a struggle to find the fortune they were pursuing. Deadwood is full of historic buildings, old west history, gambling, gold mines, and fun for the entire family.
Some of the people who passed through Deadwood were Wild Bill Hickock, Calamity Jane and Seth Bullock. There are many attractions in Deadwood you may enjoy. Some to consider are the Deadwood Walking Tour, Adams Museum, Days of ’76 Museum, Historic Adams House, Mount Moriah Cemetery, Sanford Lab Homestake Visitors Center, and Old Style Saloon No. 10. There are also casinos, saloons and restaurants along Historic Main Street.
Your excursion will include bus transportation to and from Deadwood, all day pass on the local trolley, coupon book for food, shopping, casinos, and other attractions and beverages on the bus ride. Some tours and attractions require additional payment and are not included in the excursion. You may want to contact private tours to confirm price, time and need for reservations.
